Our Story
Clearview Family Medicine opened its doors in 2015 when Dr. Maya Patel, after more than a decade of working in large hospital systems, decided to build the kind of practice she wished existed when she was growing up. One where the doctor remembers your name, your kids' names, and the health challenges your family has faced over the years.
What started as a solo practice on South Lamar has grown into a three-physician team serving thousands of Austin families. We’ve added Dr. James Corrigan for complex internal medicine and Dr. Lucia Fernandez for pediatric care — but the founding philosophy hasn’t changed. You deserve unhurried appointments, straight answers, and a care team that’s in your corner for the long haul.
We are proudly independent. We are not part of a hospital network or private equity-backed group. That means every clinical decision is made for your health, not a spreadsheet.

Dr. Maya Patel, MD
Family Medicine
Dr. Patel founded Clearview Family Medicine in 2015 after 12 years in academic medicine. She specializes in preventive care and chronic disease management and is known for her thorough, unhurried appointments.
Dr. James Corrigan, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. Corrigan brings 8 years of internal medicine expertise to the team. He excels at managing complex multi-system conditions and coordinating specialty care for patients with multiple diagnoses.
Dr. Lucia Fernandez, MD
Pediatrics
Dr. Fernandez has cared for Austin’s youngest patients for 10 years. She is bilingual (English/Spanish) and passionate about developmental milestones, vaccination education, and keeping kids healthy from day one.
