New Patients · Austin, TX
No clipboard marathon, no mystery bills, no being rushed out the door. Here's exactly what happens between the day you call and the day you leave with a care plan — most new patients are seen within one to two weeks.
How It Works
Four steps, one unhurried hour with a board-certified doctor, and a written plan at the end. That’s the whole process.
Call the office or use the online form — most new patients are scheduled within one to two weeks, and we hold same-day slots for anything urgent. Tell us if you prefer a specific doctor; Dr. Fernandez sees pediatric patients, and Dr. Patel and Dr. Corrigan see adults.
We email a secure link to your health history and consent forms. Doing them at home takes about 10 minutes and saves you the clipboard — if you skip this step, just arrive 15 minutes early and we’ll set you up at the front desk.
Plan for about an hour. Your doctor reviews your full history, current medications, and any concerns — unhurried, in the room, not from a hallway screen. If labs are due, we usually draw them on site the same day.
You leave with a written plan: what we found, what we’re watching, any prescriptions or referrals, and when we want to see you next. Results land in your patient portal, and a real person calls if anything needs discussion.

New Patient FAQ
The questions our front desk answers most — and if yours isn’t here, call (512) 555-0142 and a person will pick up.
Typically within one to two weeks of calling. If you're sick and can't wait, say so — we reserve same-day urgent slots every morning, and new patients can use them. For the best chance at a same-day slot, call by 8 AM.
Plan for about an hour door to door. The visit itself runs 40–45 minutes with your doctor — longer than a typical follow-up, because we're building your baseline: full history, medication review, exam, and any labs that are due. Arriving with your forms done online keeps the front-desk portion to a few minutes.
Yes — that's the point of family medicine. Dr. Fernandez cares for children from newborn through 18, and Dr. Patel and Dr. Corrigan see adults, including complex chronic conditions in older parents. Many of our Austin families book back-to-back appointments so one trip covers everyone.
You're still welcome. Our self-pay rates are flat and published — $150 for the comprehensive new-patient visit and $95 for follow-ups — with no surprise line items. If you expect to visit more than a few times a year, the $89/month Direct Primary Care membership usually costs less: unlimited visits, same-day access, and no copays.
Sign one release form and we request the records from your previous provider directly — you don't have to chase paper. If you have copies, bring them to your first visit or upload them through the portal link we email you. Records typically arrive within a week or two, and we'll go ahead with your first appointment either way.
Yes. Dr. Fernandez is our pediatric lead — well-child visits, vaccine schedules, developmental screenings, and sick care from day one. School, camp, and sports physicals are usually available within a week; bring the school's form and we'll complete it during the visit.
